Welcome to Skills for Energy

The East of England is currently one of the fastest growing regions in the energy industry. With a population of over 5.5 million the East of England has enormous potential to be at the forefront of the energy industry.

The Skills For Energy partnership over the next 10 years will aim to bridge the gap in skills shortages within the energy industry in the East of England.

Skills for Energy will provide:

  • Access to resources and information provided by sector specific businesses and organisations within the energy industry
  • Up-to-date information on industry news and events
  • Direct links to training funding delivered through schemes such as ‘Towards 2010'
  • Users at all levels with guidance and expert knowledge through close interaction and support
  • Support to businesses and individuals aiming to increase their skill levels and training needs

The progression and development of the skills and knowledge of businesses and employees in the region, who are at the heart of the energy industry, is essential to ensure the future of the industry in the region over the next 15 years.

The East of England has the potential to be at the forefront of the energy industry. The Skills For Energy partnership will facilitate this development and ensure that the East of England can remain a prominent force in the energy industry.

Blair Ainslie, MD of Seajacks has been appointed as the new chairman of Skills For Energy taking over from David Edwards, CEO of SLP on 1 June 2009.

David Edwards, said that I am very pleased that Blair has been appointed.  He takes over at a very important point in the development of the Skills For Energy partnership and his wealth of experience in this industry means he can provide the leadership and strategic counsel to guide its development.
