Projects

Skills for Energy projects are co-ordinated within our two main strategic targets:

1.  Attract entrants into the energy sector at all levels (‘Attraction')

We will:

  • define & quantify the importance of the energy industry, which will help to;
  • change public perceptions of the energy industry, allowing us to;
  • target younger people; and
  • encourage a diverse and socially inclusive workforce;
  • facilitate the offer of more apprenticeships;
  • interface with higher and further education institutes; and
  • attract talent from other sectors.

2.  Develop and deliver the knowledge and skills to assure our future in the region. (‘Develop and Deliver')

We will:

  • be a gateway to skills development opportunities across the region, and
  • organise and simplify access to training programmes and providers.
  • inform providers on provision requirements and communicate ‘gaps' in provision where possible.
  • recognise individuals competence and/or experience (not just qualifications)

You can explore the main project themes and the various sub-projects within each of them via the submenu on the main menu. Also available on this page is a full summary of projects within our implemetation plan, downloadable in PDF format
